I finished reading 'Contemporary Literary Theory: A Student's Companion'. This book is written by N. Krishnaswamy, John Varghese and Sunita Mishra, all are from Hyderabad. It introduces different schools of literary criticism in a reverse order. After the 'Conclusion', there is a chapter on 'Literary Criticism in India'. At the end of each chapter there is a 'Quotation Bag' and a 'Question Box'. Glossary, Annotated Bibliography and Index of Authors are provided at the end of the book. The book includes 160 pages. I read 'The Craft of Language and Literary Research' by Syed Mohammed Haseebuddin Quadri. This book deals with the basic concepts of research and research methodology. It elaborately discusses research methods, research design, how to conduct research and document sources, etc. Drafting, editing and proof-reading of the thesis is also discussed. It is exclusively intended for M.Phil. and Ph.D. research scholars of language and literature.
